DARKANE Putting Finishing Touches On New Album Recordings
March 26, 2008DARKANE guitarist Christofer Malmstrm has issued the following update:
"As you might know by now, DARKANE is recording our fifth yet-untitled album. We've been living in the studio for about five weeks now, and hopefully everything will be recorded and ready to be mixed when this week is over. We have a guy named Per following every step we take in the studio with a video camera and putting up video diary blogs every now and then, along with studio reports from Peter Wildoer [drums]. So far three of them are up and the fourth (including guitar recording) will be up later this week. Check them out at www.darkane.com. Our forum is also back online, so feel free to pay a visit and discuss the video blogs or anything else regarding DARKANE at www.darkane.com/phpBB2/.
"Jens [Broman] is recording the vocals this week and I will probably record my last three solos tomorrow. I've got a new Ibanez guitar last week. This time it's a RG2610 BK Prestige, and I really love it! It's a little cheaper version of the RG3120 with only one humbucker pickup and no tone control or switch... but who needs that when it's METAL!! =) I like it a lot and will probably use it as my main live guitar from now on.
"Speaking of live, when the mixing is done we are gonna take a trip to beautiful Chicago, Illinois and play the Chicago Powerfest (May 2nd-3rd) together with bands such as TESTAMENT and ICED EARTH. We are really looking forward to this! See you there!"
DARKANE played its first show with new singer Jens Broman (CONSTRUCDEAD, THE DEFACED) in November 2007 at the ProgPower Scandinavia festival in Copenhagen, Denmark. According to Christofer Malmstrm, "Jens enjoyed every second of the show, and so did the rest of us. Our former vocalist Andreas was in the audience to support us, and he was very postive afterwards... along with the rest of the crowd."
DARKANE's upcoming DVD was shot in May 2006 in the band's hometown of Helsingborg, Sweden.
